Pick-up is chaos — coats, siblings, car seats — and it's exactly when parents are handed the most information. The sheet means nothing gets lost in the shuffle: dinner decisions ("some lunch" = hungry kid), bedtime math (nap ended 2:45), and the thing they'll actually ask about at dinner ("tell me about the worms you found!"). Where our infant report tracks every bottle and diaper, this one matches how toddler days actually flow — meals as portions, potty as events, and more room for what happened.
- Check boxes during the day, write sentences at rest time. The checkboxes take five seconds in the moment; the two "today we" lines are a calm-hour job, not a 4:55 scramble.
- Be honest about the hard days. "Having a hard day" plus one factual line beats a rosy report that collapses the moment the parent hears about the biting from someone else. Trust is built on the mixed days.
- Use "not much" as data. Two "not much" lunches in a row is worth a pick-up mention; five in a row is a pattern the family's pediatrician might want to know about. The stack of sheets is what makes patterns visible.
- Let the please-bring row do the nagging. Wet-clothes season empties spare-outfit cubbies fast — the checkbox asks so you don't have to remember to.
