Check-in kiosk
The kiosk is the check-in and check-out screen families use when they arrive and leave. This page lets you pair tablets, customize the kiosk's appearance, manage staff access, and preview exactly what parents will see.
Setting up a tablet
- Enter a friendly tablet name (such as Front Door or Playroom).
- Click Create setup.
- Scan the QR code with the tablet, or expand No camera? Enter a code from the tablet to pair it manually.
- Once connected, the tablet appears under Enrolled tablets.
Each enrolled tablet stays signed in as a kiosk until you choose Sign out. You can rename a tablet at any time to make it easier to identify.
Customizing the kiosk
The live preview updates as you make changes, letting you see exactly what families will see before saving.
- Choose Landscape or Portrait.
- Select a keypad layout, button style, and background.
- Use your daycare logo and banner image automatically, or upload a custom header image.
- Adjust colors, fonts, transparency, and text alignment.
- Customize the welcome message, prompts, and success messages shown during check-in.
Click Save appearance when you're happy with the design. All enrolled kiosks update automatically.
Admin PIN
Your Admin PIN unlocks owner-only tools directly on the kiosk, such as manual check-ins, manual check-outs, viewing staff tools, and checking everyone out at closing. These actions are recorded under your name.
Employees should use their own PINs instead. Staff PINs are managed under Daycare setup → Employees, so every action is attributed to the correct person.
Security & behavior
- Minimum PIN length controls how many digits families must enter.
- Idle reset returns the kiosk to the welcome screen after inactivity, protecting family privacy.
- Signature determines when electronic signatures are collected (check-in, check-out, both, or never).
Health questionnaire
Click Health questionnaire to create optional health screening questions that parents answer during check-in. Any flagged answers are highlighted on your dashboard and can also be viewed by staff if you allow it under Staff settings.
Managing tablets
Every enrolled device appears in the Enrolled tablets list along with when it was last seen.
- Rename changes the tablet's display name.
- Sign out removes that device from your daycare so it must be paired again before it can be used.
