Families & guardians
Families are the foundation of Wylari. Each family groups together one or more children, their guardians, billing information, emergency contacts, and authorized pickup people. Children are always created from within a family.
Creating a family
- Enter a family name and click Create family.
- Add one or more children to the family.
- Add each guardian with their contact information.
- Optionally designate a primary guardian, emergency contact, and enable parent portal access.
Children
Every child belongs to exactly one family. From the family page you can add children, update their attendance status, open health records, and edit their information.
Guardians & pickups
Guardians are parents or caregivers responsible for the child. They can receive messages, access the parent portal, and use the parent kiosk when enabled. Authorized pickups are additional people approved to collect a child, such as grandparents, relatives, or babysitters.
Billing & enrollment
Billing is configured separately for each child. Assign an enrollment type and payment arrangement, including pay in full, subsidy, or copay. Children within the same family can each have different enrollment and payment settings.
Emergency contacts
Add emergency contacts in the order they should be called if a guardian cannot be reached. Guardians can also be marked as emergency contacts if appropriate.
Archiving & deleting
If a family is no longer attending, we recommend archiving the family instead of deleting it. Archiving hides the family from normal lists while preserving all records.
Deleting a family permanently removes the family, guardians, billing information, authorized pickups, emergency contacts, and child profiles. Attendance records are not deleted and remain available for historical reporting and compliance purposes. This action cannot be undone. If a family has billing records, they cannot be deleted and must be archived instead to retain records for tax purposes. Deleting a family is usually only done for testing or duplicate entries.
