Fees & tuition
Fee types are the options that appear in the For list when recording a payment. Create fee types for anything you charge besides regular tuition, and optionally create credit types for refunds or discounts.
Creating fee types
Give each fee a name and, if it's usually the same amount, enter a default value that automatically fills in when recording payments.
Common fee types include:
- Registration fee
- Enrollment fee
- Supply fee
- Activity fee
- Late pickup fee
- Field trip fee
Credits
Enable Credit for payment types that reduce a family's balance, such as refunds, discounts, credits, or account adjustments. Credit entries appear as negative amounts on receipts and year-end payment statements.
Managing fee types
You can edit names and default amounts at any time. Archive a fee type to remove it from future payments while preserving it on existing payment records and receipts.
Tuition / payment is the built-in default payment type and cannot be archived.
