Age groups

Define the age groups your daycare uses, from youngest to oldest. Wylari automatically determines which group each child belongs to based on their birthday and helps you plan upcoming birthdays and children who are getting ready to move into the next group.

Creating age groups
  1. Enter a name such as Infant, Toddler, Preschool, or School Age.
  2. Choose the age the child ages out at. When they reach this age, they'll automatically move into the next group.
  3. Leave Ages out at blank for your oldest group.
  4. Click Add group.
Order matters

Always list your groups from youngest to oldest. For example:

  • Infant — ages out at 1 year
  • Toddler — ages out at 3 years
  • Preschool — ages out at 5 years
  • School Age — leave blank (oldest group)
How Wylari uses age groups
  • Automatically places children into the correct age group based on their birthday.
  • Warns you when children are close to moving into the next group.
  • Updates a child's age group automatically after birthdays.
  • Helps power the dashboard's openings and birthdays planner.

Future updates will add optional licensing capacity tracking for states that use staff-to-child ratios or weighted point systems. Because licensing rules vary from state to state, this feature is being designed to work flexibly across the U.S.

Try it in your own daycare.

Everything in this guide is included in every Wylari plan — no add-ons, no per-child fees.
